Hai la...Dah lama aku tak update blog aku yg tak seberapa ni...Apa taknya, dalam masa seminggu ni, aku memang sibuk sangat la...Apa tak nya, ada 5 major breakdowns kat Temerloh ni dalam masa seminggu...If you are a JKS (Jurutera Kendalian & Senggaraan), that's a scary stats...
1st breakdown - 01/06/2005 - I was called by my PK (Pengurus Kawasan) asking me the status of a breakdown...I don't even know there was a breakdown...I was following SAVR (Saluran Atas Voltan Rendah) team doing MSVR (Membaiki Sistem Voltan Rendah) at that time...Apparently, feeder ABS, one of the electrical cable supplying Temerloh town centre tripped on fault...I rushed to the TNB office and went on to follow the standby team locating the fault and the process of locating and repairing the faults went all the way up to 12.00 midnight...
2nd breakdown - 02/06/2005 - I was having my breakfast with my subordinates when one of them told me that there's another tripping and it was also feeder ABS this time too...I thought that we spoiled the repair we did earlier, but the tests done show that the feeder trips on yet another fault...We went through the same process of locating and repairing the fault...But unfortunately, through some tests, we discovered that there are more than one fault along the electric cable...So, we have to locate another fault along the cable...And while doing that, another fault occur on another feeder supporting the faulty cable (ABS) at that time (feeder Tanalith)...Man, I felt like hell...
3rd breakdown - 02/06/2005 - As I explained earlier, this is the fault that occur while me and my team was repairing the other fault that occur much earlier...What we did to give back electrical supply in minimum amoun of time was to ring the upper section of feeder ABS with the upper section of feeder Tanalith (upper section of feeder ABS is not faulty) and the lower section of feeder Tanalith with another feeder into Temerloh town centre, feeder Semantan...Believe me, this breakdown will go down as one of the most difficult one to handle...I stayed up until 5.00 am in the morning trying to locate the fault, and went to work at 7.30 am...We worked for more than 2 days to locate the fault because the cable is so deep underneath the main road...I was really tired at that time...It was said that the cable situated somewhere between 10 to 20 feet under the ground...In the mean time we were able to locate the 2nd fault on feeder ABS and finished repairing it on 12.30 am 05/06/2005...When we finally located the fault, we couldn't repair it straight away because we have to get the permission from JKR to cut and dig of their newly built 4 lane main road to do the repairing job...And so, I have to negotiate with the JKR engineer to get the permission...The response was unconvincing since we have to dig up to 20 feet deep...The engineer wasn't convinced on whether we can repair and get the road back to normal...While negotiating the permission, another fault took place...
4th breakdown - 08/06/2005 - Somehow, as I was writing to the JKR for the permission, I expressed the fear of how it would be if feeder Semantan happen to go on fault too as it is currently the only healthy feeder supporting Temerloh town centre...As I finished my letter, I got a call from PPB (Pusat Pengurusan Bekalan)...The message was simple, but devastating..."En. Ikrom, untuk pengetahun encik, feeder Semantan trip on fault...Sekian untuk makluman encik..." I was like, hell, the thing that I fear the most actually happened...I called my subordinate and he quickly checked on the fault...Actually, a JBA contractor happen to damaged the electrical cable accidentally while digging up on the roadside to do plumbings...And so, 70% of Temerloh town centre went blackout for more than 3 hours...It is because, there are no aother healthy cable that can support the load carried by feeder Semantan (feeder ABS can only take up small load due to cable current carrying capacity limitation and feeder Tanalith is on fault)...Thank god, my jointers (people repairing such fault) were able to repair the fault very quickly (in less than 2 hours)...So, we were able to give back the supply in immedietly...But, the thing is, this fault is actually a blessing in disguise...Fortunately, because of the blackout event, the JKR engineer decided to give us the permission to to the digging to repair out faulty feeder Tanalith (3rd breakdown)...Initially, he told us that he very nearly disapproved our application...
3rd breakdown continue - 08/06/2005 - Promptly after getting the permission, we assemble our manpower and called our contractor to provide us with an excavator...Mind you, this is not the usual tractor or JCB that you always see people use to do diggings...This is an absolute mammoth of a machine...Seeing it in action was like seeing a dinosour come to life...It was huge, almost twice as big as the normal JCB...We need it to do very a very deep digging with its long digging arm...I felt like a very powerfull engineer, able to move such machine for a very big repairing job...We started off the digging process at 8.30 pm and the whole process of repairing the cable took us up to 8.00 am the next morning...The actual normalization of the whole system finished at 3.00 pm...
5th breakdown - 09/06/2005 - As we finished repairing the 3rd breakdown, there was raining cats and dogs and storm in the evening...And so, one of our H/Pole (pole mounted substation) went faulty because of tree branches falling on it and trigger a flashover...And so, another feeder, Paya Pamah tripped because of it...Thank godness, this one is not as bad as all the other breakdown..However, this one took up to 2 hours to repair too...
In the end, it was a very tiring week...Huhuhu...Anyway, this is the job of JKS...
